UK immigration from India

India and the UK have signed a landmark Migration and Mobility Partnership (MMP) to strengthen migration ties and create new opportunities for professionals and students.

Under this agreement, the Young Professionals Scheme allows citizens aged 18 to 30 from both countries to live and work in each other’s nations for up to two years. The partnership aims to promote legal migration, prevent illegal movement, and enhance cooperation between both governments.

The UK government has confirmed that this initiative will attract skilled talent from India, offering better access to study, work, and research opportunities. It also supports mutual recognition of qualifications and fair migration practices.

This collaboration marks a major step forward in building a modern, fair, and secure migration system, opening doors for thousands of young Indian professionals to gain global exposure in the UK.
