Morden, Manitoba is a city lying 112 km southwest of Winnipeg with a population of around 9,000.  The Morden Community Driven Immigration Initiative (MCDII) has an active role in immigrating new permanent residents to the community under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).  If a candidate is not eligible for MPNP they can apply for initiative for a support letter. Morden immigration choose approximately 50 families per year to be supported by this program.

What is the eligibility for Morden immigration?

There are few requirements which is decided by the Morden community. Which everyone has to meet to apply for Canada immigration through MCDII.

Eligibility for Welders, Cooks, Plumbers, Pipefitters, Carpenters, industrial painters and woodworking machine operators will be as per below.

  1. Minimum 2 years of Experience in the target occupation.
  2. Minimum post-secondary or Diploma, certificate or degree.
  3. Age should be between 21 to 45 only.
  4. Express Entry Profile not required.
  5. Must have at least CLB5 in IELTs.
  6. Proof of funds to settle in Canada. minimum capital of CAD 10,000 for main applicant and CAD 2,000 for each dependent.
  7. Candidate should not have any connection with Canada like no friends, relative in Canada.

For other occupations

  1. Age should be between 21 to 45 only.

Morden Community Driven Immigration Step by Step Process

Step 1: Determine your eligibility as per Morden immigration program.

Step 2: Need to have an active Express Entry profile (with the exception of Welders, Carpenters, Cooks, Plumbers, Pipefitters, industrial painters).

Step 3: Submit an application (include Federal Express Entry number, if applicable). Candidates must have the following items in order to apply:

  • Application form.
  • Updated resume of principal applicant and spouse.
  • Valid passport copy.
  • IELTS score card
  • Proof of Settlement Funds (scan of bank statement and/or property estimation).

Step 4: If the candidate is selected, he or she will receive an invitation and they may have to come for an exploratory visit (not mandatory).

Step 5: During the exploratory visit, the candidate will research Morden and prepare for his or her interview with an MPNP officer at the end of the visit.

Step 6: After the interview with the MPNP officer, the officer find him eligible for MCDII and MPNP, candidate must be given an invitation to apply for MPNP.

Step 7: Candidate can apply online for provincial nomination through the MPNP. This need to be done after returning to home country from the exploratory visit.

Step 8: Once the candidate is reviewed by MPNP, and they determined that he or she meets all minimum qualifications of MPNP, Candidate will receive a Nomination Letter from the MPNP.

Step 9: Using this Nomination Letter, candidate can apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC, formerly CIC) as a provincial nominee.

Step 10: IRCC will do further review, including medicals and criminal record checks.

Step 11: Once the candidate receives Permanent Residence Visas, they can make arrangements to move to Morden, along with their family members.
