Express Entry Draw #156: 557 PNP candidates receive Invitations
557 invitations to apply are issued in the new Express Entry draw on July 22, 2020, and the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in this round was 687.
54,357 immigration candidates are invited by Canada this year.
Only candidates who received nominations from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) were invited to the latest draw, which is why the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut to 687. This PNP-specific draw requires the lowest CRS. Far in 2020.
All of these candidates received first provincial nominations and were given an additional 600 points toward their overall score. This means that candidates who received an invitation to apply (ITA) in this round would require a CRS score of at least 87 for their human capital without provincial nomination.
It is the 9th PNP-specific draw since Canada closed its borders back in March in an attempt to stop the spread of coronaviruses. Since then, the round of invitations conducted through the Express Entry System has followed a pattern where the draw will alternate between candidates with provincial nominations and candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The first all-program draw since the onset of the epidemic took place earlier this month.
Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied a tie break rule in today’s draw; candidates had to have submitted their profiles before November 11, 2019 at 8:51:21 UTC. This means that all candidates with CRS scores above 687, as well as those with scores of 687 who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before this date and time, received an ITA.
Candidates are ranked in the pool based on the CRS that considers 4 main factors: –
- Age
- Education
- Skilled work experience
- Proficiency in English or French
