Skilled Trades Pilot Scheme
Starting 30 June 2025, Hong Kong will admit non-degree technical professionals in eight skilled trades:
New-industrialisation technicians
Lift and escalator technicians
BIM coordinators
Electrical technicians
And other high-demand technical roles
This pilot program has a quota of 10,000 applicants and targets professionals aged 18–40. This opens new pathways for skilled tradespeople to work in Hong Kong without a degree.
