Skilled Trades Pilot Scheme

Starting 30 June 2025, Hong Kong will admit non-degree technical professionals in eight skilled trades:

  • New-industrialisation technicians

  • Lift and escalator technicians

  • BIM coordinators

  • Electrical technicians

  • And other high-demand technical roles

This pilot program has a quota of 10,000 applicants and targets professionals aged 18–40. This opens new pathways for skilled tradespeople to work in Hong Kong without a degree.


How to Apply

To apply through the QMAS visa or other work visa schemes:

  1. Verify that your occupation appears on the Hong Kong occupation list 2025.

  2. Prepare academic or professional credentials and work experience evidence.

  3. Highlight your achievements and explain how your skills contribute to Hong Kong’s economy.

  4. Submit the application online through the official immigration portal.
