BC PNP invited 76 in new tech draw

On November 17, 76 immigration candidates were invited to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence by BC.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued invitations through the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills immigration streams.

The candidates were invited through BC PNP Tech Pilot under Skilled Worker, International Graduate and Entry level and semi-skilled subcategories. Candidates invited to receive nomination are required to be offered a job in a qualified technical occupation.

The minimum required score for successful candidates was 80 in all categories.

The draw takes place through two provincial nominee program (PNP) categories and streams on a weekly basis.

To apply for Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC categories, candidates must first create a profile through the online portal of BC PNP and register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Applicants are evaluated and issued a score based on factors such as level of education, work experience, proficiency in English and place of employment.

If an applicant is approved, they can use their provincial nomination to apply for permanent residency with Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the PNP.

Express entry candidates who receive nominations from British Columbia will be given 600 additional points towards their Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Such individuals are effectively guaranteed an invitation (ITA) in future Federal Express entry draws.

Every week, B.C. Issues invitations under its Tech Pilot.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot is a fast-track immigration route for in-demand IT workers and international students. It operates through the current provincial immigration streams of B.C.

BC to consider for immigration Through this program, candidates are required to make a valid job offer in one of the 29 eligible professions.

Qualified occupations for the BC PNP Tech Pilot include computer and information systems managers, civil engineers, web designers and developers, translators as well as audio and video recording technicians.

Unlike other BC PNP streams that require permanent employment offers, the minimum duration of a Tech Pilot job offer must be one year. However, employment offers that are more than one year in duration will still be eligible under the pilot. It is also required that the job offer is full-time and from a qualified employer in the province.

Candidates who have been invited to apply for a provincial nomination have 30 days to submit a complete application.
