B.C. issued 358 invitations in new PNP draw

On November 10, BC invited 358 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued invitations through the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills immigration streams.

The candidates were invited under skilled worker, international graduate and entry-level and semi-skilled subcategories.

The minimum required score for successful candidates was as follows:

  • Skills immigration: skilled worker: 93 points
  • Skills Immigration: International Graduation: 94 marks
  • Skill immigration entry-level and semi-skilled: 75 marks
  • Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker: 92 Marks
  • Express Entry BC: International Graduate: 93 Marks

Because the effect of Coronovirus BC Businesses, some businesses were excluded in this draw. The BC PNP webpage contains a complete list of excluded businesses.

B. C. conducts draws on a weekly basis through its various PNP categories and streams.

To apply for the skills immigration or express entry BC categories, candidates must first create a profile through the online portal of BC PNP and register under its Skill Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Applicants are evaluated and issued scores based on factors such as level of education, work experience, proficiency in English and place of employment.

If an applicant is approved, they can use their provincial nomination to apply for permanent residency with Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Express entry candidates who receive a nomination from British Columbia will be awarded 600 additional points towards their Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Such individuals are effectively guaranteed an invitation (ITA) in future Federal Express entry draws.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot is a fast-track immigration route for in-demand IT workers and international students. It operates through the current provincial immigration streams of B.C.

BC to consider for immigration Through this program, candidates are required to make a valid job offer in one of the 29 eligible professions.

Qualified professions for the BC PNP Tech Pilot include computer and information systems managers, civil engineers, web designers and developers, translators as well as audio and video recording technicians.

Unlike other BC PNP streams that require permanent employment offers, the minimum duration of a Tech Pilot job offer must be one year. However, employment offers that are more than one year in duration will still be eligible under the pilot. It is also required that the job offer is full-time and from a qualified employer in the province.

Candidates who have been invited to apply for a provincial nomination have 30 days to submit a complete application.
