New nomination requirements for VIC - 491 visa.

Victoria has published new nomination requirements for the subclass 491 visa. Following is a summary of eligibility requirements:

Age: less than 45 years
English Proficiency: All applicants must have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least six in each band score or equivalent.
Occupation: To apply for Victorian nomination for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) visa, your occupation must be listed on the occupation lists.

Offer of employment: All applicants who wish to apply for Victorian nomination for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) visa must provide evidence of a current offer of employment in a position located in a designated regional area of Victoria (as defined by the Department of Home Affairs).

Applications for the 491 visa nominations open in VIC from 18 Nov 2019; 0900

There are different subclasses under which an applicant can move to Australia. Subclasses are mentioned below:

  • Australia Skilled Independent Immigration Visa Subclass189–This visa is for the candidates whose skills and abilities are in demand in the country. It is a point-based visa. And this visa is for those applicants who lack sponsorship from a state or territory government or from any relative who live in Australia.     It requires 60 points which is calculated based on age qualification experience and an English test.
    This visa allows you to live and work in Australia and can also apply for Australian citizenship after spending a specific time to a particular state.
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa (Sub Class 489)– This Visa is a temporary visa for 4 years for those applicants who are having skills and abilities are in demand in a specific state or territories of a country as showed by independent states occupation list but they cannot meet the criteria required to get sponsored visa (subclass 190).
    It is an invitation based visa. This visa allows you to live and work in Australia for 4 years can travel number of times the visa is valid.
